Borràs Studio is, first and foremost, my personal project: an independent digital fashion studio based in Barcelona, where fashion and 3D converge. My way of working with fashion from my own perspective, as an artistic discipline and as a powerful form of self-expression.
For me, fashion is a way of expressing emotions and conveying stories and creative visions, rather than treating it as a soulless product. I consider each piece as a living part of a collection, with its own message and full of soul and emotions to convey.

DANIEL BORRÀS, Founder & Creative Director
I am Daniel Borràs, a 3D artist and fashion designer based in Sant Cugat del Vallès. I trained in 3D Animation and VFX at La Salle URL, Barcelona, specialising in tissue simulation and character FX, and then decided to pursue a Master’s in Fashion Design at IED Barcelona to bring together the two disciplines that interest me. I have been working at the intersection of fashion and 3D for five years, specialising in character modelling, fabric simulation, digital creative direction, and designing pieces for performance.
Borràs Studio is my designer project: the place where I publish my archive and offer my collections for hire. EGO, NÉMESIS started as a final master’s collection, and is the inaugural collection of this archive. It explores inner conflict and emotional transformation through conceptual fashion pieces, and has been presented internationally at VISION25 (Prague) and as an immersive installation at SOLACE26 (Athens).
Studio Philosophy
Among my core values, I champion opposition to the current fashion system, questioning what we socially accept from the industry and promoting a more conscious way of creating and consuming garments. I focus on sustainability, the use of responsible materials and processes, and the value of human creativity and narrative, in clear opposition to the growing replacement of creative processes by AI-driven generative design. I create durable pieces and narrative elements, designed to communicate, circulate and evolve over time.
Borràs Studio shares my personal and ethical values, and this informs not only the creation of pieces but also my collaborations: opposition to fast fashion and the exploitative production system, environmentalism, and a rejection of AI. Some of my core values include:
Slow fashion
Borràs Studio shares my values: extended-life collections, limited pieces and spaced-out releases. I want to leave room for creativity, not mass-produce items. If I have nothing to say, I won’t make a piece.
Arxiu viu
The pieces are archival. I hire them out for events and one-off occasions, but ownership does not transfer. I am building my own archive, which can evolve, and I work with circularity.
Moda = Art
I don’t make products to be consumed, but pieces with history and soul.

My background and early forays into fashion stem from the digital world, when I studied 3D, and this remains my foundation. I fuse digital and manual processes in my design, without succumbing to the current trend of implementing AI into the process.
No AI
Currently, the entire digital fashion landscape is saturated with AI: implementation in all processes, modification of designs with generative AI, and partnerships between fashion and AI companies at most events. There is practically no space for digital fashion that takes an anti-AI stance. I want to be able to take part in events that aren’t funded by AI companies or that don’t promote its use. Let’s reclaim virtual spaces.
